SaveThreadThreads Video Not Downloading? Causes and Fixes
Most Threads videos fail to download because the post is private, deleted or text-only, or because a profile link was pasted instead of a post link. Check that the post opens in a private browser window without logging in, copy its link again with Share → Copy link, and try once more.

Quick check: does the post open without logging in?
Open the link in a private or incognito browser window. If you see the video without logging in, SaveThread can download it. If Threads asks you to log in, or says the post isn't available, the post isn't public and no downloader can save it.
What each message means

Every reason a Threads video won't download
- The account is private. Only approved followers can see private posts, so they can't be downloaded.
- The post was deleted or hidden. If the creator removed it, or Threads limited it, the media is gone.
- You copied a profile link. Links like threads.com/@username point to a profile, not a post. Open the post and copy its link.
- The post is text-only. Replies and posts without a video or photo have nothing to download.
- The video is a link preview. A YouTube, TikTok or news link shown as a card is hosted on that site, not on Threads.
- The post needs a login. Some posts are shown only to logged-in users, for example because of their content.
- The link was cut off. Messaging apps sometimes break long links. Copy it directly from Threads again.
- A temporary Threads problem. Wait a few minutes and try again.
The video was found, but won't save
- It plays in a new tab instead of downloading: use the Download MP4 button. On iPhone, tap Share → Save Video in an open video.
- I can't find the file: see where downloads go on iPhone, Android or PC and Mac.
- The ZIP download fails: very large carousels can be too much for some phones. Download the items one by one instead.
- The download stops halfway: check your connection and free storage space, then try again.

Why does SaveThread say no video was found when I can see the video?
You're probably logged in to Threads, so you can see posts that aren't public. Open the link in a private window. If it asks you to log in, the post can't be downloaded.
Can I download a video from a private account if I follow them?
No. SaveThread only sees what the public can see, which protects private accounts.
Why won't a reply with a video download?
Make sure you copied the reply's own link (Share → Copy link on the reply), not the link to the main post.
Does SaveThread work with deleted posts?
No. Once a post is deleted, its media is removed from Threads.
