To download a photo from Threads, copy the post link, paste it into the box above and press Download. SaveThread shows every image in the public post, including carousels, and saves each one as a full-size JPG, or all of them at once as a ZIP file.

How to save a Threads photo

  1. Copy the link to the post

Tap the Share icon under the post and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the post's address from the browser.

  2. Paste it above

Paste the link into the box. SaveThread starts looking for images straight away.

  3. Download the images

Press Download JPG under the photo you want, or Download all as ZIP to save every image in the post at once.

Why not just take a screenshot?

A screenshot only captures what fits on your screen, at your screen's resolution, with the app's buttons and text around it. Downloading gets the original image file, usually much larger than your screen, with no cropping and no interface in the picture.

Image quality and format

Photos are saved as JPG, the format Threads uses for images. SaveThread picks the largest version available, and the card shows its real width and height. Very large uploads may be stored by Threads at a reduced size, and that stored size is the maximum any tool can download.

Can I download a Threads profile picture?

Not yet. This page works with photos inside posts. A profile picture viewer is planned. Until then, profile photos on Threads are only shown in a small size.

Using downloaded photos

Photos belong to the people who took them. Save them for personal use, and ask permission before posting someone else's photo. When you share, credit the creator by their @username.
